Location: Faria Lemos, Minas Gerais

Aged: Yes, one year

Type of wood: Oak

ABV: 40%

It’s been a while since I’ve had this 1000 Montes Oak-aged cachaça. However, I remember enough about it to relate that it impressed me. This, much like the Boz Luz I wrote about a couple weeks ago, is a far above average product. However, 1000 montes comes with a catch.

The greatest downside to this is the bottle, which is only 500 ML. The discrepancy in bottle sizes makes this a less affordable product than Boa Luz. However, this doesn’t have an impact on the product itself, which is quite good. There is a stronger version of this 3AOB, which is 45% ABV. I haven’t tried it yet, and I don’t totally get the purpose.

Either way, the normal 3AOB, as I recall, is a perfectly delightful cachaça that everyone should try.
